Nationwide pasta recall due to potential mould contamination

Written by Dr. Frederik Wuppermann | November, 8 2024

Microbiological issues are a common reason for product recalls, and if not managed properly, they can lead to the production of mycotoxins. Recently, a Bavarian manufacturer issued a nationwide pasta recall due to concerns over potential mould contamination. In Munich, consumer safety remains a top priority, but occasionally, product defects can occur despite strict precautions. This recent recall impacted several retailers and serves as a reminder to stay cautious about our food safety.

It serves as a reminder to both consumers and producers to stay cautious about our food safety, ensuring that all necessary measures are taken to prevent such incidents and maintain public trust in food products.

At LCTech, we help with highly selective immunoaffinity columns (IAC), specific SPE columns or the unique CrossTOX® as multitoxin column - all LCTech columns can be used manually as well as in automation. Especially the columns in SMART format are excellent for fast sample preparation with reduced solvent usage.
